I had a sheer disgusting experience yesterday in the Tanishq Jayanagar boutique. I had a GHS scheme of 60000 INR matured few days ago and visited the shop for redemption. Entered the shop waited for about 5min until we ourselves asked to attend us. All executives seemed occupied in their own activities. Finally, one of the executives told us to go to second floor for the product that we were looking for. We went to the second floor and again felt being set apart without any attendants. We asked for service and an executive told us to wait for some time. After about 10min we were called. The executive asked for my GHS account number and my identity proof. A lady (seemed like a fresher) was assigned to serve us. She was not speaking at all..!!.. For each of our queries she was going back to her senior and was coming back with some answers, not satisfactory though. Finally we selected a necklace and stunned after hearing the additional price. It was 14000 INR more than the net weight of the jewellery. They claimed that the wastage charge is 26% and this depends on the design..!. However, we somehow managed to select a piece among the limited collections. Two thousands left out in my GHS account, which is non-refundable in cash. Again the similar service by the attendants. Selected a ring of very common design which again incurred a wastage charge of 25%. Bought this just for the sake of buying to get back the leftover two thousands. Eventually arrived at the billing counter after ourselves asking for the previous jewellery that we had selected. Same fresher lady came for our assistance. Her senior told that my GHS TRANSACTION CAN NOT BE PROCESSED at the moment, though I had previously provided him my GHS account details and identity proof. He asked me to get my GHS account details print out and THEY DO NOT HAVE A CENTRALIZED DATABASE OF GHS ACCOUNTS. In GHS terms & conditions, it was NOWHERE mentioned that this print out is mandatory. I somehow tried logging in to the site on my mobile but in vain. I asked for a computer with internet so that I will login and show them my GHS account. But they refused to do so initially. I waited for 15min and really got irritated by the WORST SERVICE I have ever seen. I furiously asked the executive to take me to the store manager. The executive now seemed little tensed and he managed to arrange me a PC with internet and I got the required print outs. Finally, got the bill cleared after so much of waiting and came out of the shop at 6.30 PM. A long 3.5 hours of gold buying, ruining my mood. I ALWAYS WANTED TO ENROLL TO THE NEW SCHEME AGAIN BUT AFTER THIS INCIDENT DECIDED TO REFRAIN FROM THIS. NO MORE TANISHQ EVER. :-(
