Dr Vinod K Gujral

This post is on a genuinely RUDE doctor. My father Mr HS Chauhan visited Dr Vinod K Gujral (physician cardio diabetologist, A- 158, Defence Colony,drgujral19@gmail.com, mobile - 9811077671/9818419673). On a previous day this doctor had prescribed certain blood tests. Since the blood tests had some alarming results, my father rushed to him first thing in the morning on 5th Nov 2014 and took the reports on his smart phone - not a printout. To which the doctor took major offence. He called my father all kinds of names, screamed at him for coming to him without a "proper printout" (reports were received only at 8am in the morning). On my father apologising to this doctor, many MANY times, the doctor still continued his nonsensical misbehaviour, being very rude, abusive and personal. When my father said that he can come another day with the printed reports, this bad mannered doctor said that "I don't want to waste my time twice on you". My father paid Rs1100/ for this consultation and Dr VK Gujral's staff member even forced my uncle to buy the doctor's recently published book for Rs200/ the previous day, Today one can board a flight by showing your ticket on your smart phone, so what was the issue of the doctor seeing the report on a "large screen smart phone"? Maybe the issue is very simple, the doctor was being nasty, rude and treated a "worried" patient so poorly - because we did not get the blood tests done from this doctors own specified lab - thus not having the printouts! Or maybe the doctor is just mean-spirited and evil tempered. Since my father was going to this doctor for review/consultation for over a few years - when he was treated so poor (and being in a "worried state") - my father did not say anything back to the doctor. He even said that "I apologise with folded hands" - all for not carrying a few printouts! How regression and disgusting a behaviour from a senior doctor. But everything kept aside, my father who is a heart patient - has very high BP and has been in a very agitated state of mind due to this behaviour from Dr Vinod K Gujral since yesterday. On speaking with others after the incident, it seems that many other patients have gone through the same rude-nasty behaviour from his doctor. These kind of "bedside-manners" should not acceptable so why are we tolerating it from a senior doctor? My entire family will be posting this episode on their respective Facebook/social media pages and writing to a few journalist friends. We will also be emailing this to the National Heart Institute where this doctor is a consultant.
