Hello People,
My name is Maroof Shaikhji. I'm a former SQTL student (FC road, Pune) and i would like to share my experience with you. When I went at the office to enquire about the process, they told me all sorts of nonsense stuff like
1) You'll complete the course within 3 months.
2) You'll have live projects to work with.
3) You will get 100% placement assistance.
4) Along with the testing syllabus, you will also be trained on Aptitude skills.
And a lot more was promised to me regarding the quality of the staff and the training material.
Although they gave me a lot of books (Probably to show that the fee i paid was worth all this).
I started my course on 9th August 2014. Before the batch started, i was told that each session would last for 3-4 hours. However, i discovered that the teacher there wasn't a professional teacher. She was working in some company and this was just a part time or an extra income thing for her. So, instead of the 3-4 hour session, our sessions lasted hardly for an hour.
I also was disappointed with the quality of teaching there (Including staff, training material, machines and ofcourse the automation tools).
This went on for a period of almost 20-25 days and then finally the teacher quit her job and now our sessions went on for 3-4 hours a day.
After completing my training, i wanted to appear for the ISTQB (Foundation Level) certification exam but i wasn't allowed to.
They said that i had to clear the internal exit exam first (Maybe to prove that i am capable of appearing for the ISTQB exam). So i agreedto give the exam and cleared it (Please note that alot of time was wasted in this process as well because although the exit exam was online, it took them another week and a half to evaluate the results). After clearing the exit exam, i approached the management again asking them to arrange for my ISTQB exam. However i was again told that i have to clear another exam (Aptitude exam) before appearing for the ISTQB exam. Now before paying my fee, i was told that i would be given proper training on aptitude.
So, i asked the management about the training for aptitude. The answer they gave me was so disappointing. They said that they did not have an Aptitude training faculty (Imagine that being said by a national level Software Testing Institute). So I waited... Another 2 weeks passed by and they still could not hire the trainer. So i approached the management again and asked them to just arrange for my ISTQB exam regardless of whether i give the aptitude exam or not. So i was allowed to give the exam. I appeared for the ISTQB exam on 23rd November 2014 and at that time i was told that our certificates would take a maximum of 30 days to reach us. However, we would receive a confirmation within 10 days whether we cleared the exam or not. So finally after 15-20 days i got to know that i cleared the exam. And then after 2 months i received my certificate. The certificate just had my first name on it for some reason (I guess the Indian Testing Board is quite lazy or maybe they couldn't afford the expenses to print my full name on the certificate... Government i tell you). I was told that i had to get it rectified on my own and no assistance was provided. I contacted Sonal Garg of the ITB and told her about my grevience. I was asked to send the certificate back to noida to get it corrected which i did. Finally i got the certificate in 15-20 days after continuous follow up.
In the time between all of this, I was given an interview call at Vertis Info systems Pvt Ltd. (For that i should be so thankful to SQTL because it was the last time we communicated with each other). I could not clear the interview. while paying the fee, I was told that I would get a minimum of 8 interview calls. But i got 1 atleast (Might be a standard procedure they have to follow). The took all my details... My CV, My qualification details and everything required. I still have no word from those people. My first interview call was in December 2014. Ever since, I haven't heard from them. I apply for jobs on job portals everyday. i am still unemployed. Maybe i'll join a BPO in a week or two. They wasted my time and money. Please consider joining SEED or Mindscripts instead of SQTL. I know that even they are after your money... But unlike SQTL, they fear about losing their dignity and name in this business....
