Its better to carry our own luggage than appointing SIVASA. I live in Kolkata. I needed to shift my luggage from 1st floor of a building to 3rd floor and the flat is few blocks from that location. So they were spared with the fuel costing. This was the 3rd time I am shifting. I called up SIVASA to give us an estimate. A Lady and a guy came to my house. They roamed around and saw everything which need to shift. I already had about 10-12 Cartoons in packed condition. So they were again spared with some effort and time. On the day of shifting they came around 10.30am where they were supposed to start with the packing from 9-9.30am. When they came I was stunt. 3 guys came to do the cartoon packing. One of the guy was around 50 years old. Hardly can move anything and very slow. They were asking us how to put it in the box. 1 thin guy who was so stupid and novice that he cut himself with a pen knife while packing and the reason was he was unware that the knife was so sharp. And 1 well dressed supervisor who also started working like a labor. They took about 4-5 hours to do the cartoon packing. After that 2 more guys came (well built but was smelling of alcohol) to move the big stuffs. Some how they loading the first round. On reaching the location they started quarreling and demanding more money since they gate of the flat was not on the road. I asked him which flat have they seen which has the main entrance right on the street. We refused to pay any more money. I can hear them abusing us and making jokes on the furniture we had. They shifted 2 times and were left with another 2 times but by then all the big items were shifted. Then by the 3rd time they started the fight. They just refused to shift any more stuff if we do not pay them more money. We said we will only pay what was decided and not a single penny more. Then they simply left, leaving us stranded with half my stuff hear and half there. We had to then wait for about couple of days to book another packers to shift the rest of the stuffs. We had nothing to cook as the oven was still in the other place. Bedding was not there so had to sleep on the floor. It was a terrible experience. They did similar thing with a distant Sister of mine. She had to pay up as the place was new and they came to deliver the luggage around 10pm. I came to know that this is a trick to squeeze out more money as we will not have any option other than to pay. Please book cheater at your own risk.
