Aarthi Scans

We have had a pretty bad experience with this scan centre in Velachery today. We had been there to take CT scan for my mom who has been suffering from stomach ache for a while now. We went to Aarthi scans because we have heard some good about the center in the past but we were proven wrong today. With today's experience I would not suggest my friends or good contacts to go to this centre for taking scans or other medical reports. The CT scan report for the test taken yesterday had uncertainties in it. Some specific findings does not even apply for my mom considering her medical history and the response given by authorities/attendants there was simply unconvincing. Though they agreed to take another scan for my mom today, they did not follow the same pre-requisites for the CT scan today. I mean, they did not give the same liquid/solution/water to drink sometime before taking the CT scan. They just gave simple drinking water to drink. They should have been assertive in their procedures and should have guided us correctly. Also, the report that they gave us today after scanning today was also not helpful. Our doctor rejected the CT scan report saying that there is some uncertainity in the report and is not advisable to prescribe treatments based on this tests taken yesterday or today. When we asked the attendants in the scan centre why is just water given today and why not the same liquid/solution that was given yesterday the response was not so convincing again. Simple point is that if there are some preconditions to do CT scan should they not be advising the patient/visitor to follow the same thoroughly. Diagnosis is not something that can be done with partial tests etc.... Should the head of consultants check/review the reports before it is handed over to the visitor or patient. Though all understand that there are possibilities for human error, someone reporting a finding which is totally not relevant to patient's body condition is not acceptable. Though the report can be of a specific template for printing purposes the findings should be specific and the consultant should be reviewing it thoroughly before handing it over to the respective visitor/patient. Two days of strain and physical pain the report is meaningless, this will be annoying for anyone. We are now in need to do the CT scan for the 3rd time tomorrow (obviously not in Aarthi Scans Velachery). We managed to get a refund of the CT scan charges after debating it with the attendants/authorities however it is just a small piece of satisfaction to win over the wrong reporting done by them. If this case had happened in places like UK or US, the visitor or patient family would have sued the authorities for reporting uncertain things and giving care less responses. Please be aware and make it a point to review your reports before you take it away from this scan centre. While we were discussing my mom's case yesterday, we did see another visitor shouting at the authority for a wrong entry in his/her report - something like typo in mentioning the unit of measure, say cm instead of mm. Think how shocking this should have been to the patient, doctors are smart enough to identify that as a typo, though. Like I mentioned earlier, I would not go to this center any more and will not suggest to my good contacts.
