My dad who himself is a surgeon went for lamenectomy an elective surgery. Dr satish s, dr vivek padegal, dr sheela chakarvothy, dr shobha failed to assess his past medication history, leading to sudden withdrawl of his sleeping pills. Team of doctors kept my dad deprived of the pills for 2 weeks . On repeated request, they started the drug in lower dose, which lead my dad to go through super refractory seizures, a life threatning condition. Not only they fail to diagnose, they also prescribed medication on lower dose, failed to monitor him in critical times, and kept him in unsafe conditions leading to bed sore.Failure to timely and accurately report pressure sore to the family despite repeatedly requesting an input in this matter Developing Pressure sore in this day and age in a hospital like Fortis with accreditations like NABH& JCI is not at all expected. This simply highlights inferior ICU / hospital nursing care and a very casual approach for a calibre of hospital like Fortis Bangalore. Hospital acquired Acinetobacter Infection- needing additional higher potency antibiotics etc- risk of side effects / interactions etc+ enormous cost Failure of the Junior staff / Nurses in the ICU to accurately provide counselling+ updates in the absence of consultants especially on weekends and even some time on weekdays On repeated reminders to the Dr satish S+ pulmonologist Dr vivek padegal+ treating team Dr shobha and  Dr sheela chakarvothy- leading to serious withdrawal- leading to status epilepticus-ICU Admission-  risk to life and function). Interestingly  fortis patient summary  which was provided to us fails to recognise the serious error on the part of the team to stop the sleeping pill post op+ also delays in recognising the withdrawal. Dr abhijit the medical director and dr amaan, after repeated request even failed to take appropriate action. It is is the worst case of medical negligence.
