I learnt German in Wisconsin Education Center in J.P.Nagar for the purpose of attending International Certificate Exam A1 conducted by Goethe Institute. I went to Wisconsin just because the Goethe Institute in Bangalore was too far from my home. Wisconsin charged Rs.7500/- which is not much less compared to Goethe fees (around Rs.8000/-). But i think it was waste of money and time for me because of the following reasons,
1). The coaching was ineffective. The coaching was not based on what is required for the international exam.
2). The class also had school students who came for just learning something during their vacation. The syllabus, Contents and the method of teaching was the same for those school students (not appearing for A1 exam) and the candidates who are appearing for the international exam.
3). They will simply commit to every students for money without any seriousness.
4). Duration of each class was scheduled for 2 hours but actually it went for only one hour everyday.
5). Most important part of learning a language is pronunciation but their pronunciation itself was wrong which i came to know only when i attended the one week exam preparatory class at Goethe Zentrum.
6). Luckily i attended one week exam preparatory class at Goethe Zentrum which was very much effective
and helped me a lot in my exam.
In summary the 3500 Rs. which i spent for the preparatory class only helped me for clearing the exam and the money and time which i spent at wisconsin was an utter waste.
I strongly suggest that it is better to take class directly at Goethe Zentrum instead of trying out some private institutes who cares much for money and do not care much for our exam.
