Nathella

I have bought a silver anklet for my daughter for her 1st B'day in Nathella, Velachery. Anklet was very thick & with lots of bells in it. My husband, my mom & I actually wanted to try it in the showroom itself and since we liked it, we bought it. So we made my daughter wore the anklet in the showroom itself. The anklet was cut into two pieces (broken) within a month. We went to the showroom on 4-Sep-10 to replace it. We misplaced the bill somewhere and we told the shop that we don't have the bill on hand. We asked them to check the seal in the anklet to make sure it was purchased from them. The person (Fat & with Sandal,Kumkum on his forhead), went to someone to discuss regarding the lost bill. He then replied saying that they can take the anklet with the current rate for the present weight. (It was around 73gm when they weighed). We saw a lot of designs and all the anklets were very thick and we don't want to make a mistake again, by buying the anklet of same kind. They told us that fresh pieces will arrive by Wednesday/Thursday (8-sep-10 or 9-Sep-10), so we can choose an anklet which would be flexible to wear. When we went today (9-Sep-10), the same person, who said earlier, that the anklet can be taken with current rate for the whole weight of anklet, now says that they can only take for BUY BACK RATE & also they will reduce 20% from the weight. We were stunned by the reply and asked him how he can say an entirely different thing from what he spoke last week. He is arguing that it is their policy and he did not say that he will take it for current rate. Nathella being doing the business for more than 60 years, I didn't actually think that they can change words and make customer lose faith in the shop. Be careful while dealing with Nathella, they are changing their words frequently. They are behaving like this even for a silver anklet, how can we buy a gold/platinum/diamond from this shop? When there is damage in very costly piece, then it is the customer who will be suffering. How we can ensure that the quality will be good in the shop like this?
