MGR Engineering College: Set up in 1988, this engineering college is now part of the Dr. MGR Deemed University. The engineering department has well established facilities and modern laboratories that enable research work leading to an M.S. or a Ph.D. degree. The college is situated within the city limits and is well connected by the public transport system. Separate hostels are available for boys and girls with dining halls for both vegetarians and non-vegetarians. The hostel rooms are spacious and well furnished.
