I have been a client of Dr Katyal since 2004 and haven't had reason to go looking for another vet ever since. For one, she's among the few who spend as much time counselling the owner as she devotes to the pet. Two, she's probably the only one who does not switch off her phone at night, on weekends and on holiday though she is married and has household responsibilities as well. Indeed, I have known her to rush to the clinic to attend to emergencies even at 2am and on Sunday afternoons. When one of my earlier cats was attacked by dogs more than 9 years ago and was grievously injured, my then vet, who wasn't even married at the time, was unreachable as he had switched off his phone. Dr Katyal is easily among the top 5 vets in Bombay today. Of course she doesn't come cheap and yes, she should probably invest in a more spacious clinic, computerised records, etc, but all of that is secondary. What is uppermost is the knowledge, skill and diagnosis, on which she has no rival at least between Bandra and Belapur. Yes, there are others who are cheaper, but then if you can't afford her services, there are other monkeys in the area who will be happy to charge peanuts for their 'services'. Only don't cry if they can't save your pets.
Vinit Patel's lab does a blood test for Rs100? That's news to me!!! I must sue him. He charged me almost five times as much the last time I went to him. V, I hope you will testify in court when I call you in as witness.
DO NOT TAKE YOUR PET TO HER UNLESS YOU WANT TO EUTHANIZE YOUR PET!! I am a doctor myself & easily recognized in my first & last visit that she & her colleague Reena do not even have basic knowledge. They try to scare their patients with imaginary diagnoses so that they can fleece them. Also, they do not even talk politely, even with a doctor!
We went to Dr Deepa Katyal to get our cat spayed. The experience has been very bad right from the time we entered into the clinic, have detailed the review in points below to make for easy reading:
1) The waiting area at the clinic outside is chaotic with no assistant attending to the animals, leave alone getting a token number. So if you are a new comer to the clinic, you will notice regular patients getting preferential treatment and walking in before you inspite of you coming before them
2) The overall hygiene and look and feel of the clinic is pathetic. It is cluttered, claustophobic, mismanaged and looks like anything but a clinic. This is particularly appaling given the fact that Dr Katyal`s fees are by no way reasonable. (I will ge
