My in-laws and my wife and I have been repeat customers of National Service Centre for all our washing machine and AC servicing needs. We got the motor for our IFB washing machine replaced by them a year or so back. We called them to reconnect our washing machine which we needed to move to a different location as we bought a dishwasher. Specifically informed them by SMS about approximate length of pipes required and asked them to let us know in advance when their technician can come, so we can plan accordingly. No response. Next day, at 2 pm, the technician calls up and says "I can come now. Are you at home?" We weren't at home that day, so I asked him to come at 3 pm the following day, which he agreed to do. Also asked him if he was told a ... View More bout the pipe lengths. He wasn't. So I informed him about it. Next day, we planned our day around the 3 pm service call by this technician. At 3 pm, I called him. He says "pipe is not available, so I'll come tomorrow". I called up their office and asked about why they couldn't inform me as soon as they knew that the pipe isn't available today. The receptionist tells me she will talk to their "Sir" and call me back. She called back, said that the technician will come today. I asked if he will come with the pipes, because otherwise it's of no use for him to come without the necessary lengths of pipes. She didn't know. Then the technician called me and said he will go to the workshop and pick up the pipes, but it will take another hour, and that the pipes will cost Rs 750/- and Rs 350/- each. I said that's fine. At 4:45 pm, the technician calls me and says only 3 meter pipe is available. I asked if the pipe can be returned if we don't use it. He said no. I asked if they were buying the pipe from elsewhere - he said no, they have the pipe in their workshop. I asked him why they can't take it back if they don't use it. He said they cannot take it back. I told him I'm a repeat customer, no difference. I told him to come, visit, measure and see what needs to be done in terms of pipe length and location of the washing machine, and that I'm willing to pay the "visit charges", and I asked him how much the visit charges are. He said it's Rs 250/-. I told him, it's fine, you come and see what needs to be done. Then he tells me "you must've measured the length - what is the point of me coming and doing the same? why do you want to waste Rs 250/-?" I told him that I wanted someone to come and provide me a solution - whether it took a visit or a 3 m pipe or some other solution, was secondary. He said that then I will have to buy the pipes and there will be no refund for not using the pipes. I then told him I don't want to talk to him. I then called up and spoke to the manager. He said that he'd talk to the persons concerned and get back to me. A couple of hours later, the receptionist calls me and asks me again about the pipe length. By this time, I had figured out a different location for the washing machine and re-connected the existing lengths of the pipes and had even started the washing machine. I told her I don't need their service anymore, as I did what was needed to be done, myself. She tells me "if you could do it yourself, why did you call us?" I said that I did it myself because their technician was acting too pricey to come and visit. The receptionist then tells me that the technician told her that I said I would not pay the visit charges and that the longest length of pipes available is 2.5 m (reduced from 3 m that he had told me). I asked her to get the technician on the same call so we can clear it out. She said she will talk to him separately instead. She called me back and she said that the technician is sticking to his story. I asked to speak to their "sir" and I asked her for his name and number. She refused to give it to me. I asked her at least 3-4 times to either get the technician on the same call or to give me the name and number of their "sir" - she refused to do either. I told her if you don't do either of the two, I will post reviews on all websites about this experience. She told me that I should go ahead and do it. So here I am. I hope at least some people read this and don't make the mistake of calling this service centre.View Less
