Our dog had suddenly stopped lifting her tail and we took her in because we were worried. Dr. Lakshmi Ramana took an X-Ray of her back and tail. She informed me that our dog had a slipped disc and that she would immediately have to go on steroids and painkillers. She wrote very powerful prescriptions which really worried us. After we had given our dog her first dose of medicine, I googled the symptoms she had. Turns out it was widely reported as Limber Tail Syndrome, which is very minor. I forwarded this to my father-in-law, who is a surgeon, along with her X-Rays and asked him for his opinion. My father-in-law thought that our dog's bone structure was intact and that we should ask for a radiology report from Dr. Lakshmi Ramana and suggested that the medicines prescribed were extraordinarily powerful and didn't seem to fit the symptoms. He also opined that if he had seen this X-Ray, he would have never thought of it as a slipped disc. We requested a radiology report from Dr. Lakshmi Ramana several times but never received it. By the next morning our baby was violently ill. She couldn't get up, couldn't keep any food down and watching her was very scary. So we took the X-Rays to another vet, described her symptoms and asked for a second opinion. He told us that this was as perfect a specimen of a back x-ray as he had ever seen. He asked whether she was scooting on the floor. My wife had seen her scooting once, the day before. He said that she just needed to have her anal glands expressed and that we should stop the course of medicines prescribed by Dr. Lakshmi Ramana. He also thought that they were extraordinarily powerful and unnecessary. By the evening we stopped all her medication and began to taper the steroids. The next day our dog didn't throw up at all. We took her in to see the other Vet, he expressed her anal glands and our dog has been fine since. Dr. Lakshmi Ramana has a fantastic reputation that is completely undeserved. She is negligent at best and has malafide intentions at worst. NEVER go to her clinic, Animal Care Clinic on Banjara Hills, Road No. 4. She does not care about your pets and is criminally negligent.
