The Olive Beach at the Hotel Diplomat is an elegantly styled restaurant with shades of white and blue, which complement the cuisine. There is a wide range of grill options as well as salads and pizzas, all prepared true Mediterranean style. The service is good, and the maitre-de is very helpful with choosing wine. An ideal place to have a comfortable meal with a friend.

. The enthusiastic ladies from the cheese counter had their backs to us, inches from the table and they kept bumping into it and us. We requested for another table and were told that the wine tasting class was about to get over and we would be moved shortly. We were there for more than one and a half hours and nobody came back to help us move. While âhelpingâ with the menu, the attendant offered only one vegetarian option in the main course, while the menu clearly had another which had to be pointed out. Later, the desserts reached our table but the attendants had to be requested for the associated silver. Even if the airconditioning was on, it was practically inefficient and we were all sweating. Olives used to be one of my favorite places in Delhi until recently when a meal there was nothing short of complete disaster. I had a visiting American lady and her 10 year old son as my guests. I had made a reservation for a table for 3, indoors, for lunch on a Saturday afternoon. On reaching the place, I discovered that there was a wine training session being organized and the place looked like a classroom. We were told that there were no tables available but they will still âaccommodateâ us, interesting considering we had reservations. We were given a table for 2 with a large sofa chair on one side where the guests could cramp up. Interestingly, larger tables for 4 were available but I was told that these were âreservedâ.
