I had a sheer disgusting experience yesterday in the Tanishq Jayanagar boutique. I had a GHS scheme of 60000 INR matured few days ago and visited the shop for redemption. Entered the shop waited for about 5min until we ourselves asked to attend us. All executives seemed occupied in their own activities. Finally, one of the executives told us to go to second floor for the product that we were looking for.
We went to the second floor and again felt being set apart without any attendants. We asked for service and an executive told us to wait for some time. After about 10min we were called. For each of our queries she was going back to her senior and was coming back with some answers, not satisfactory though. Finally we selected a necklace and stunned after hearing the additional price. It was 14000 INR more than the net weight of the jewellery. They claimed that the wastage charge is 26% and this depends on the design..!. However, we somehow managed to select a piece among the limited collections.
Two thousands left out in my GHS account, which is non-refundable in cash. Again the similar service by the attendants. Selected a ring of very common design which again incurred a wastage charge of 25%. Bought this just for the sake of buying to get back the leftover two thousands.
Eventually arrived at the billing counter after ourselves asking for the previous jewellery that we had selected. Same fresher lady came for our assistance. Her senior told that my GHS TRANSACTION CAN NOT BE PROCESSED at the moment, though I had previously provided him my GHS account details and identity proof. He asked me to get my GHS account details print out and THEY DO NOT HAVE A CENTRALIZED DATABASE OF GHS ACCOUNTS. In GHS terms & conditions, it was NOWHERE mentioned that this print out is mandatory.
I somehow tried logging in to the site on my mobile but in vain. I asked for a computer with internet so that I will login and show them my GHS account. But they refused to do so initially. I waited for 15min and really got irritated by the WORST SERVICE I have ever seen.
I furiously asked the executive to take me to the store manager. The executive now seemed little tensed and he managed to arrange me a PC with internet and I got the required print outs. Finally, got the bill cleared after so much of waiting and came out of the shop at 6.30 PM. A long 3.5 hours of gold buying, ruining my mood.
I ALWAYS WANTED TO ENROLL TO THE NEW SCHEME AGAIN BUT AFTER THIS INCIDENT DECIDED TO REFRAIN FROM THIS.

Be careful when the sales people in Tanishq try to sell you either their products or their card and the reward points. Always ask for written proofs. They are big liars. Their bills do not show break-ups like making charges. They may say that they give 100% exchange value for their gold products but when the bill comes you will find there is a wastage of 21.5%. Thought that the brand name of Tata is atleast trustable but sadly all are great cheaters in this industry. They will say whatever they feel will make you happy..doesn't matter even if it is a bunch of lies.
You ruined my Birthday gift. Is this enough to make you look into this seriously.
Do you know anything about customer value? No this is not a complaint. If you value your customer, you wouldn't have done this.
Nobody is willing to take the responsibility.
After writing a detailed mail, the only response i get is "we will look into this"
Call the Sales person, they say the mistake is from Factory, blame them.

I was so impressed that i also agreed to register for the Anuttara scheme (now I am little worried about the mistake I made). Everything is ok till this point.

After 2 weeks, I called the showroom and asked the status of the ring, I was shocked at the rude response. The sales person told that "orders usually take 30 days" and due to festival your order will be delayed. I am a Hindu, and I know how many people buy gold for Sankranti. Or whatever maybe the reason, why was this not told to me when placing the order. When I argued with the sales person, he called the person who interacted with me. Again I got assurance that I will get the ring by 20th Jan. Surprised.
So I wrote to Trancustcomp, thinking that it might help.

Salesperson from Tanishq called me. Promptly said that my order has arrived and I can collect it from the showroom.
But but but.. modifications are not taken care of.
Now tell me, if I didn't want the modifications, I would have bought it on 1st Jan itself. Why do I have to wait for 20 days?
Funniest thing is, sales person said that, he will get the new ring with modifications done in one week.
Felt like Tanishq is fooling me by giving me something which I don't want, and eventually pushing my wait period. When you can get the ring done in one week now, why canât it be done in 20 days when I placed an order? After lot of arguments, I get an email id "tellus@ittan.co.in"
Anyway you have ruined my Birthday gift. Actually this was my first gold gift from my wife, which I will remember throughout my life. I will never forget Tanishq for this.
I doubt, writing to you will help me or not. If at all, anybody is listening, please look into this seriously.
I am looking at the below options.
1. cancel the order and get refund in cash.
2. cancel the Anuttara membership.
3. Atleast talk to some responsible person. Fed up of talking to sales person and getting false assurances.

The customer care is really good but few customer atitude are as if they are the king and all the shop keepers are slave...!I really like the strawberry juice they provided as a complimentary drink...! it was a good experience...! 7 out of 9; 9 being the 'WOW' effect service...!
