She learnt Rabindra Sangeet from the renouned music school DAKSHINEI under the guidance of Subho Guha Thakurata. The completed the music deploma with a first class. Then she took music lessons from the renounced Rabindra Sangeet maestro and teacher Subinoy Roy. She was one of the favourite students of Subinoy Roy. She learnt Rabindra Sangeet from Subinoy roy for more than 25 years. Due to the transferable service of her husband she had to stay in different district towns of India.
