very awful exp and it sseems i hav put rs. 2604 into gutter. very unhygenic ambience and shameless staff members. I ordered koi maach where the koi maach was fully stale and stinky the hilsha (each amounts to 395 INR) was very small in size and it did not stand up to its sky rocketing price. I had taken my parents and relatives who landed from kolkata for some authentic bengali food and had this horrible experiience. I think even the small restaurants in munnekolala in marathalli are far better than 6 th ballygunje place bangalore. My sister had told the manager about the stale fish served and he shamelessly listened and charged the full amount . Atleast he should have that decency to admit. I must they that 6th ballygunje place ... View More

Landed up here again today along with my wife. We started with a starter made from banana flower which tasted yummy with the mustard sauce ( Bong Ishtyle ). We also had Aam Pana which was OK. I guess I like the UP version better.

We had Chana Dal, Fried Brinjol with Matar Puris and Pulav. All the items tasted good and was also confirmed by my wife who knows more about Bong food as she used to stay in Jamshedpur. Overall a nice place to visit even if you are a Vegie.

BTW they do not serve buffet any more.

Went for lunch with office folks yesterday. I was probably the only veggie around in a Bong place but their buffet had enough options. Don't remember the name all the dishes but there was a green dry sabzi which tasted good. We also had shallow fried brinjol which tasted great. The green peas stuffed puri and Sandesh were the best part of the buffet. Will go there again for sure.

This is a place where you need to visit atleast once.

Dont think about your wallet while ordering for delicacies...They are too expensive. But what are you earning for if you dont do justice to your taste buds !!!

Yes... i still crave for mutton kosha which was lip smacking. It tastes best with loochi.Mutton was very soft and the bone were chewable too.

Dab Chingri- It is a must order for every table there... the slight tinge of sweet coconut gravy melts in your mouth along with the prawns-just cooked right. It tastes best with steamed rice.

This eatery has less desserts which is not good for bengalis, i would suggest them to add on few more desserts.

Dishes are definitely Bengali but nothing great compared to their prices. Couple of times we found the fish served not at all fresh. Being in Bangalore for the last four years I know places where you can get fresh fish. Hard to believe that a restaurant highly spoken about doesn't know them. Expect the quality of the food to be better (if not the best) when I am paying quite a sum for it.

"THE HYPE CREATED AROUND IT IS BASELESS"

Nita ... am sorry i'll still go to this "tacky" place as this indeed serves excellent Bengali snacks.
Pls, never ever visit the restaurant on top of 6 Bally...." Gup Shup"...it is extremely tacky, and mind you the hardly serve authentic bengali snacks.... plus be prepared to be bitten to death by the friendly neighborhood mosquitoes.
Food is average but price is indeed HIGH! And not to mention the wait time... not for a seat, but for the food to come! This is for those who have loads of money and time to waste!!!

Dada dam gulo ektu komalay asar frequency ta barbay amader sokoler.
